Pune Police to issue QR code pass for Pune – Lonavala train service
The government of Maharashtra has begun unlocking restrictions in its Mission Begin Again initiative. In this it recently announced resuming several train services. Pune – Lonavala local train is one such service which the government allowed. This service shall be available between 8.05 am from Pune to Lonavala and from Lonavla to Pune at 6.05 pm and Pune to Lonavla at 8.20 pm and Lonavala to Pune at 5.05 pm from October 12, 2020.
A meeting was held recently wherein officials from Pune District Collectorate, Pune Municipal Corporation, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, PMPML, MSEDCL, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation, Public Works Department, Divisional Commissioner Office, Zilla Parishad, Tribal Research Institute, Laboratories, Pharma companies, District Court, High Commission, Central Excise and Customs, District Sports Authority, Nigdi Pradhikaran, Railway Division, etc, officials are allowed to avail the train service. For this the officials need to obtain a QR enabled pass which will be issued by Pune City Police Commissionerate. These people would be screened by thermal guns at the railway station premises before entering the trains.
Also, the railway authorities should ensure that there are no hawkers within 150 meter areas of the station. The railway station premises would be barricaded completely and local authorities would display direction boards. Pune Municipal Corporation would carry out fumigation and sanitisation of each train after it reaches Pune and passengers have de-boarded from the train.

Those pass holders who have QR code enabled pass shall be allowed to board the Pune – Lonavala and Lonavala – Pune local train service
