Ganesh Imperia society in Wakad held blood donation camp
Ganesh Imperia society in Wakad recently held a blood donation camp in association with Pimpri Chinchwad Housing Federation.
As the blood banks have been running out of the reserves, the society in Wakad, in association with PCMC Housing Society Federation had organized a blood donation camp on 4 October.
On talking to the secretary of the society, Santosh Kanase said, “We received a good response for the camp. This donation camp was organized to support the Pimpri Blood Bank, amid the pandemic situation. We are thankful to PCMC Housing Society Federation for their association.”
Tejaswini Domse, a social worker and the chairperson of the federation said, “There is a bigger problem faced by Thalassaemia patients, to whom their parents are donating the blood when the blood banks have run out of their reserve. So, we are trying our best to collect the samples from all the societies. We received 13 donations, the requirement is huge.”
The society and the federation have also requested people to come forward and donate blood, Dhomse added.
