Mumbai, May 15 : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday issued a summons to former IRS officer Sameer Wankhede in the Aryan Khan drug case.

The CBI has issued a summon against IRS officer Sameer Wankhede directing him to remain present in agency office on May 18 in response to an FIR registered by central agency last week against Wankhede and four others for demanding Rs 25 crore bribe from Aryan Khan, son of actor Shah Rukh Khan, for not implicating him in the Cordelia cruise case and taking Rs 50 lakh from them.

Wankhede was heading the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai zone during the Cordelia cruise drug bust case.

He led a team of officers to raid the Cordelia ship off the Mumbai coast on the night of October 2, 2021.

In the raid, the NCB claimed to have seized 13 grams of cocaine, five grams of mephedrone, 21 grams of marijuana, 22 pills of MDMA (ecstasy) and Rs 1.33 lakh in cash, following which they arrested 17 persons, including Aryan Khan.
