Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the planned new administrative building of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation

The 18-story building coming up near Chinchwad station will have three basements that will cover a plot area of 8.65 thousand square meters. It will feature parking facilities for 600 four-wheelers and 3000 two-wheelers.

The building will house offices of 60 departments, including the Mayor’s office, Deputy Mayor’s office, Commissioner’s office, Deputy Commissioner’s office, Standing Committee Office, Multi-Purpose Hall, and General Hall of the Municipal Corporation. The building will be equipped with various modern amenities.

The current building, constructed in 1988, faces space constraints and fails to accommodate the growing number of employees, which has increased from 2,000 to over 7,000. The new building, designed with future expansion in mind, will offer ample space and modern facilities.

Presently, the existing building’s limited parking space forces many vehicles to line up along the Pune-Mumbai highway, causing congestion issues exacerbated by the Pune Metro construction. This development aims to resolve the parking woes and improve accessibility for citizens and employees commuting to the PCMC headquarters.
