Pune, Dt. 20: In preparation for the upcoming Special Short Revision Program of Electoral Rolls on January 1, 2024, a “Housing Institutions Voter Registration Campaign” will be conducted on Saturday and Sunday, 22nd and 23rd July.

The campaign, organized by the Election Commission of India, aims to encourage eligible voters residing in housing societies under the jurisdiction of 213 Hadapsar Vidhan Sabha Constituencies to register and update their details in the voter list.

During the campaign, the presidents of the concerned housing societies will encourage eligible voters to participate by providing necessary documents for registration. Additionally, information about deceased and migrant voters will also be collected and shared with election officials.

To register as a voter, individuals must provide proof of residence, such as an electricity bill, pani patti (water bill), Aadhaar card, bank passbook, Indian passport, registered sale deed, or registered tenancy agreement. Proof of age can be provided through a birth certificate, Aadhaar card, or 10th and 12th certificates issued by the state education board.

For the convenience of the residents, the voter registration process can be done online through the voter service portal https://voters.eci.gov.in or the ‘Voter Helpline’ app. Siddharth Bhandare, the Deputy Collector, and Electoral Registration Officer of Hadapsar Vidhan Sabha Constituency, has advised that Form 6 should be filled for new name registration, Form 7 for deletion of names, and Form 8 for correction of entries in the voter list.
