Residents of NIBM – Undri road are fed up of the garbage being dumped on the main road and also its burning in the area. To spread the awareness on proper management of waste and also to beautify the road stretch, the members of Nibm – Undri Road Residents Forum had recently organised a clean up drive, held placards in their hands spreading message on keeping NIBM clean and green.
Shehnaz Chawla from Nibm Undri road residents forum told Pune Pulse that they want to increase the participation of the local residents in resolving our issues. The impact is big and different when like-minded people come together. “Our previous initiatives were dealt in groups. Now similarly we shall all strive hard to make our area look clean, green and beautiful. We have all requested our local Corporator Nanda Lonkar to allow us to beautify the area. Soon we shall be adding colourful Bougainville plants & saplings on the stretch between Bakers Point to Everjoy society,” she added.

Nanda Lonkar, local Corporator of Prabhag 26 has always been supportive to all their intiatives. Nanda said, “I am blessed to have such caring and responsible people in my ward. It makes me feel happy to help people and I have extended all support to them.”
Parveen Tambe of Nibm Undri Road Residents Forum thanked Nanda Lonkar, Shehnaz Chawla, Dr Gunvant Oswal and all those who were present yesterday on March 8,2021 to spread awareness on segregation, efficient management of waste.
Parveen said, “We decided to beautify the area by planting colorful Bougainville which will put a break on dumping. We want people to change their mindset and handle waste properly.
The members are now looking forward to the help extended by the members of Anandvan Mitra Mandal who would be helping in planting saplings on the road.

Czarina Bhojwani, a resident of Clover Pinnacle Ridge said, “I am glad that like-minded people have come together now. I have been complaining individually all these years. We, the residents of the area need to ensure that the place remains clean but at the same time see that we are able to manage it effectively and scientifically. We must pressurise the civic body to have recycling plant in our area and also educate residents to segregate waste so that it becomes easy to handle.”
