Shortage of oxygen cylinders and remedesivir injections worries Covid19 patients in Pimpri Chinchwad
Pimpri : With the increasing number of Covid19 cases, there is a rising need of Oxygen cylinders as well as remedesivir injections in the market.
The demand and supply of both these, especially remedesivir injections has led to black marketing and over charging, leaving many patients out of its reach.
Chinchwad Constituency MLA Laxman Jagtap has written to the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Rajesh Patil regarding the rising concerns and asked him to evaluate the situation and make provisions for the same at the earliest.
In his letter, Laxman Jagtap has stated that most of the Covid19 hospitals in the city are facing huge shortage of both oxygen and remedesivir injections. The Covid19 cases are increasing and everyday more than 2000 new patients are tested positive. Since the arrangements at the Covid care centers are being mis managed patients are chasing private hospitals. And due to this several patients are dying due to lack of timely treatment. It is high time Commissioner takes stern action against such hospitals who are not providing facilities to the patients. The civic body should jointly hold a meeting with oxygen providers, food and drug administration and concerned health department officials and resolve the issue and provide better facilities to the patients.
