Pune News : Drunk car driver hits two-wheeler in Kharadi; 1 dead, 1 seriously injured

Pune: In a shocking incident, a two-wheeler rider lost his life and another sustained serious injuries when their vehicle was hit by a car allegedly driven by a drunk driver on Friday.
As per information from Rajendra Landge, Police Inspector, Chandannagar Police Station, the complainant, identified as Abhishek Gaikwad, was taking his relative (the deceased), identified as Sonali Rokade, on a two-wheeler vehicle to drop her at her PG (paying guest) accommodation. While going towards Vadgaon Sheri, when the complainant and his relative reached Kharadi on the two-wheeler vehicle, a white-coloured car, driven by the accused identified as Bhavya Namdev, who was driving recklessly at high speed and disregarding the traffic rules, hit the two-wheeler from behind, causing the complainant & his relative to fall from the vehicle.
The car dragged the complainant for some distance, causing him to get seriously injured while his other co-passenger was dead.
The two-wheeler vehicle has been severely damaged. Hence, complainant Abhishek Gaikwad has filed a case against the accused driver Bhavya Namdev at Chandan Nagar Police Station.
The case has been filed under Sections 279, 338, 304(A), 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) & sections 184, 119/177 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Further investigation is going on.
