An ace national level badminton player, excellent orator, and writer — these are only some of the feats that 19 year old Pakhee Jain possesses.
One of her latest milestones in life includes scoring an aggregate of 98.6% in the CBSE 12th board examinations within the commerce stream.
While this would be an objectively substantial achievement for anybody, on a personal level for Pakhee, obtaining a perfect score for accountancy, which was one of her weaker subjects, was a much larger accomplishment.
Shedding light on her 100/100 journey she stated, “In the initial few months of Grade XI, accountancy was one of my weakest subjects, and at that moment I decided to dedicate more hours and energy towards this weaker section. I not only solved my school’s preferred reference book but along with that I solved previous years toppers’ referred books and left no question unturned. Soon I started gaining confidence in this subject and as soon as I left the exam hall I knew I had scored full.”
She further said, “In the other subjects, where I scored 99 in business studies and mass media and 98 in English and 97 in Economics, I focused more on past Board papers and understanding the theoretical concept behind each chapter. I started preparing for boards from the month of December and dedicated 8-12 hours daily. I maintained consistency in my marks not only during 12th but even during the journey of 11th grade. Therefore I even scored 95% in 11th, which parallely made my domain stronger. I think it was not only my consistency but even my parents’ push and support every single minute that gave me the incredible opportunity to stand before everyone as the topper.”
Born to entrepreneur parents Neetu Jain (mother, 44) and Puneet Jain (father, 50), Pakhee wants to venture out in the arena of business since she strongly believes in her leadership and communication skills. Currently she is gearing up to start her undergraduate studies at the Singapore campus of the SP Jain School of Global Management.
Additionally, she maintains a wordpress blog where she writes about the trials, tribulations and learnings of being a badminton player, in order to encourage fellow sportspersons and document her own journey.
