Viral Post: Girls from Noida College Secure Prestigious Internships at Google and Microsoft with ₹1 Lakh Stipend
At the Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT) in Noida, women students secured the majority of highly sought-after internships for the summer.
A viral photograph highlighting the summer internship statistics from the institution has stirred mixed reactions on social media.

The details of the internships emphasize two female students got internships for Google and both of them received a stipend of Rs. 1.23 Lakh. Similarly, six students obtained internships at Microsoft with a stipend of Rs. 1.25 Lakh. Simultaneously, the highest-paying internship was secured by a female student at Atlassian with a stipend of Rs. 1.30 Lakhs.
Social Media has appreciated and praised these young talents however, some reactions weren’t so positive. Some of them criticized the gender ratio in hiring as biased, while others defended the achievements of the women students.
The photograph first appeared on Reddit, showing the top 16 internships, with women dominating the list and then, it spread on X. Some social media users expressed frustration with respect to maintaining the gender ratio and public image. They complained about companies prioritizing women even when unnecessary and perceived discrimination against men.
However, others very well defended the women’s achievements, arguing that such stereotypical reactions are typical of men threatened by women’s success and ambitious nature. Supporters advocated that women facing and overcoming similar challenges and stigmatization for centuries were now being recognised for their competence.
Currently, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology has reached out to get a clarification about a comment and soon, the response of the institute will be revealed in time.
