NIBM Annexe Residents Forum have expressed growing concerns over their safety due to the delayed road concretization work by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The ongoing construction has left several roads in the area half dug up for months, creating hazardous conditions for drivers and pedestrians alike.
Recently, near Shoppers Stop, a car collided with debris in the middle of a road section that lacked proper dividers and adequate street lighting at the concreting site. This incident highlights the risks posed by the unfinished roadworks, highlighting the absence of safety measures crucial for public use.
A frustrated resident took to social media, commenting on the situation, stating, “Pathetic management indeed! The concrete work has been ongoing for some time with no work-in-progress indicators, inadequate street illumination, and poor conditions on the remaining half of the road! We endure this despite paying taxes regularly.”
The NIBM Annex Residents Forum has been vocal in demanding swift action from the PMC to address these safety issues promptly. They emphasize that the prolonged construction period has severely restricted residents’ access to usable roads, posing daily challenges and safety risks.
Despite repeated appeals, the PMC has yet to provide a timeline for completing the concretization and restoring safe passage for residents. This delay has sparked frustration among locals who feel their concerns are being overlooked, especially given their compliance with tax obligations.
The forum continues to advocate for immediate intervention by municipal authorities to ensure that safety measures are prioritized and roadworks are completed without further delay.
