Maharashtra: Digital Transformation On Horizon As 30 Property Registration to Undergo RenovationÂ
By the end of July, the renewal of 30 out of the 50 property registration offices selected for the initial phase of remodeling will be finished. State registration authorities shared this update on Tuesday. The state government had opted to revamp 50 out of the 516 sub-registrar offices in Maharashtra. Due to the code of conduct being enforced for the graduate and teacher constituency elections in Nashik and Mumbai, the remaining districts will see the completion of the renovation work, as per officials.
A senior property registration official mentioned that the renovations at the 50 offices in the initial phase include new furniture, fixtures, and interior works. In some districts, there are proposals to relocate the old offices to new premises. The state government will allocate funds according to the proposals.
The government had assured funds for the renovation after citizens complained. An official from the sub-registrar office highlighted the necessity of refurbishing all offices for service enhancement.
The department suggested relocating nine offices in Camp, Hadapsar, Vishrantwadi, Erandwane, and other areas out of the 27 offices due to complaints from citizens about insufficient facilities at property registration offices in the city. The reasons cited for the proposed relocation were inadequate space and lack of facilities. The proposal has been submitted and is currently awaiting approval, as mentioned by the official.
