Driving on the Mumbai-Agra highway between Nashik and Mumbai during the rain is really tough because the road is full of potholes. This causes vehicles to slow down a lot, making the travel time much longer than usual.

Entrepreneurs and others who frequently travel between these two cities are the most affected by this situation. Some of the worst pothole areas are at Raigadnagar, Pimpri Phata, and Sinnar Phata junctions, between Wadivarhe and Igatpuri.

Commuters are expressing their frustration about the terrible condition of the highway, and they feel that the authorities are not doing enough to fix it. Abhay Kulkarni, the president of Nashik First Organisation, mentioned that every year the highway faces the same problems. The damage starts as soon as it rains, and some sections become almost impossible to drive on.

“Why aren’t the contractors held responsible or banned?” he asked, pointing out that it’s the public’s money that keeps getting spent every year on fixing the same road.

Amit Ganpule, who operates a taxi service, mentioned that his drivers are refusing to take the Nashik-Mumbai route due to the longer travel time caused by the potholes.

“The potholes at junctions near Raigadnagar, Wadivarhe, Gonde, and Ghoti are so large that vehicles dangerously sway while passing over them,” he explained.
