Accident At Navale Bridge Again: 22-Year-Old Pickup Driver Dies On The Spot, One Critical
Pune, 4th May –A fatal road accident was reported at Navale Bridge under the jurisdiction of Narhe Police Station in Pune on Sunday morning, May 4, at around 8:05 am. The accident took place on National Highway No. 4 on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway near Hotel Pigara on the Mumbai-bound lane.
According to police, a container truck (MH 04 MH 6303), allegedly driven rashly and negligently by Imran Abdul Jamadar, rammed into a pickup vehicle (MH 42 AQ 6142) from behind with great force. The impact led to the death of pickup driver Mahadev Uttam Shende (22) on the spot.
Another occupant, Sumit Dattu Kamble (22), a resident of Kavkute in Indapur taluka, sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Morya Hospital on Sinhagad Road.
Police said the collision also involved a Tata Eicher vehicle (MH 46 DC 3799) ahead of the pickup, making it a three-vehicle accident.
All three damaged vehicles were later moved to the side of the road to restore smooth traffic movement. Narhe Police have registered the case and further investigation is underway based on the complaint of the injured victim.
