Mumbai, May 4, 2026: Technical issues have disrupted the Aaple Sarkar Portal for the past five days, bringing services at Maha e-Seva centres across Maharashtra to a standstill. The outage has triggered frustration among citizens, particularly students awaiting essential documents.

Due to the glitch, operators at Maha e-Seva centres are unable to log in, halting the processing of key certificates such as income, caste, domicile, residence, non-creamy layer, and EWS documents. As a result, thousands of applications remain pending across the state.

The disruption comes at a crucial time, as admissions for professional courses like engineering, medical, and pharmacy programmes are underway following the completion of Class 10 and 12 examinations. With results already declared, students and parents are struggling to obtain required documents within deadlines, raising concerns about delays in admissions, scholarships, and other benefits.

Affidavits, which are essential for various purposes including banking, legal procedures, property transactions, and education, are also not being issued due to the portal shutdown. Citizens visiting service centres are being told that no applications can be processed until the system is restored.

The situation has led to growing dissatisfaction over digital services. While the state government has promoted online systems for public convenience, the sudden breakdown of a key portal has exposed gaps in infrastructure and preparedness.

There are increasing demands for immediate action to restore services by enhancing server capacity and fixing technical faults at the earliest, to prevent further inconvenience to the public.
