Accident : Luxury bus travelling from Yavatmal to Pune overturns in canal, 10 injured
PUNE: An accident took place wherein the front window of a Chanakya luxury bus shattered as a result of the strong wind, causing the driver to lose control. Consequently, the bus veered off the road and ended up in a canal nearby. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported in the incident.
As per the information provided, ten passengers sustained minor injuries in the incident, which occurred at approximately 10 pm on Sunday near a bridge close to Kenwad on the highway. The bus departed from Yavatmal for Pune in the evening with a full capacity of 30 passengers.
As per the information received, after passing Kenwad after 10 pm, the bus encountered a gust of wind near the bridge on Mehkar Road. Consequently, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to enter a drain on the side of the road and tilt to one side. Fortunately, all passengers managed to escape as the bus avoided a complete overturn.
Upon receiving information about the incident, local authorities and police rushed to the scene. They assisted in rescuing the injured passengers from the bus and arranged for another vehicle to transport them to the District General Hospital in Washim for treatment. Currently, the injured individuals are receiving medical treatment in Washim.
