Acquire all ICU beds from pvt hospitals in PCMC; writes MLA Jagtap to PCMC Commissioner

With the rise in Covid19 cases across the city, there has been a severe shortage of beds experienced by the patients who are seeking for beds to get themselves admitted for Covid19 treatment. Also, the citizens have been raising their voice on the shortage of beds available not just at private hospitals but also at the Jumbo covid hospitals and urged to the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) commissioner Rajesh Patil to acquire all beds at the private hospitals to meet the demands of rising beds.

Jagtap in his letter stated that the oxygen beds, ventilator beds are falling short and to fill the gap, PCMC should acquire more beds. There are several patients who are critical and still awaiting beds. There is a minimum waiting of two – three hours for them to get a bed in any hospital. Also, the oxygen beds in PCMC’s jumbo centers are not fully equipped. The private hospitals which have facility of oxygen are looting the patients by over charging. There has to be some regulation on the treatment charges, which is missing. “
