All shops in Pune to remain shut till April 30; essential services to remain functional

Just a day after the Maharashtra state government announced strict guidelines to control the spread of Covid19, on April 5, 2021 Pune Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vikram Kumar, issued revised orders stating that all non essential shops shall remain closed till April 30 in Pune city.

The orders which were issued before April 5, 2021 had mentioned that the non essential shops can remain open till 6 pm. But now the rules have become stricter.

What will remain open ?

Diagnostic centers, hospitals, pharmacists, life insurance offices

Grocery stores, Milk dairies, bakeries, sweet shops and food item stores

Cabs, Buses and auto rickshaw services, railways

Goods transport shall remain functional

Pre monsoon works

Agriculture related works

E-commerce services 

All those services which are declared under the Disaster Management Authority

What will remain shut?

Salons, Beauty parlours and Spa

Hotels, Restaurants, Bars

Private offices of non essential services

PMPML bus service

Cinema halls, auditoriums, shopping malls

All Pune Municipal Corporation runs gardens / sports ground shall remain closed from Monday to Friday, 6 pm to morning 7 am. They will remain closed from Friday 6 pm to Monday morning 7 am 

All shops, markets, malls (except essential services) shall remain completely closed till April 30.

All those working under the essential services category should install a transparent glass or other material and insist on e payments.

Rules for Public transport :

Autorickshaw – vehicle driver + Two people

Taxi / Cab / Four wheeler self drive car – Vehicle driver + 50 percent of the RTO authorised seating capacity

Face mask is essential, those found violating the rules shall be fined Rs 500. Commuters in all sort of four wheelers should wear face mask or face fine of Rs 500.

All public transport drivers and other staff should get themselves vaccinated or carry RTPCR negative report. The driver should use a plastic sheet around his seat and if tam. This plastic sheet is installed, then there is no compulsion to carry a report. The rules shall remain in effect from April 10, 2021.

Failing to carry a Covid negative test report shall be liable to pay fine of Rs 1000.

PMPML bus services to remain shut completely till April 30 (except emergency services)

All government offices to work with fifty percent of its capacity

Entertainment Zones :

Cinema halls, single screen theatre, multiplex, natyagruha, auditoriums, amusement park, arcades, video game parlours, water parks, swimming pool, gyms, sports ground (complex) and clubs to remain closed completely.

Hotels, restaurants, bars, food courts shall remain closed completely.

Parcel services / home delivery shall remain functional from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 6 pm, while they shall remain open from Friday 6 pm to Monday 7 am only for home delivery. No take away / Pick up of food parcels would be allowed.  

RTPCT test negative report or Covid 19 vaccination is a must. An employee of such restaurants should wither carry a negative test report or vaccination certificate. Failing to carry this, the person shall face fine of Rs 1000 and the organisation Rs 10,000.

All religious places within the Pune Municipal Corporation jurisdiction shall remain closed.

Permission is granted to daily, weekly, fortnightly newspaper for printing and distribution, and distribution is allowed between from 7 am to 6 pm.

All schools and colleges to remain closed. (except Class 10 and 12)

Wedding related functions to have only 50 people in attendance

Cremation programmes should have only attendance for 20 people

Visitors shall not be allowed to eat at the Roadside eateries (stalls, tapris), only parcel shall be allowed from 7 am to 6 pm

Oxygen Producers :

From April 10, 2021 all industrial companies shall be restricted to use raw oxygen  as a material for producing their materials. If anyone is found violating, then strict action shall be taken against such companies. Incase they want to use, proper permission should be sought from the licensing authority.

All oxygen producing companies should use 80 percent of their Supply only for medical use.  These establishments should inform the supply status by April 10, 2021.

Cooperative Housing society :

If there are more than 5 Covid 19 positive cases in the society, it shall be created as a micro containment zone.

Outsiders shall not be allowed to enter the society’s premises. Society failing to adhere the rules shall face fine of Rs 10,000.

These rules shall remain in force from April 5 – April 30, 2021.
