Afcons Infrastructure Limited, a Shapoorji Pallonji Group company, announced on January 13 that it has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for constructing the Pune Ring Road (East) Packages PRR E5 and E7, awarded by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd. (MSRDC).  

In a regulatory filing, the company stated, “We are pleased to announce that Afcons Infrastructure Limited has emerged as the Lowest bidder (L1) for the tender invited for the construction of the Access Controlled Pune Ring Road (East) Packages PRR E5 and E7 by MSRDC.”  

The project, with a total bid cost of ₹4,787.20 crore (excluding GST), involves building an access-controlled road in Pune under the EPC model, with a 36-month completion timeline.

Project Details

– Package PRR E5: Covers 9.6 km from Valati, Taluka Haveli (Km 72+335), to Sonori, Taluka Purandar (Km 81+900), valued at ₹2,718.50 crore.  

– Package PRR E7: Estimated at ₹2,068.70 crore.  

Afcons Infrastructure has consistently expanded its order book, securing ₹19,000 crore worth of projects as of September 2024, and expects an additional ₹5,000 crore in order inflows by March 2025. Its total order book as of September 2024 exceeds ₹34,000 crore.  

Maharashtra Projects in Focus:   

Afcons’ leadership highlighted the company’s strong presence in Maharashtra, with bidding activity for projects worth ₹60,000-70,000 crore over the past year. Of this, Afcons has secured or emerged as the lowest bidder for projects worth ₹8,000-10,000 crore.  

Despite this major win, shares of Afcons Infrastructure ended at ₹482.50 on the BSE, reflecting a 3.34% decline or ₹16.65 drop on January 13.
