After Box Office Success, Border 2 Gears Up for OTT Release — Streaming Details Inside
After creating a strong impact in cinemas earlier this year, Border 2 is now preparing for its digital debut. The war drama, led by Sunny Deol, will begin streaming on Netflix from March 20, 2026, giving audiences a chance to watch the film from home following its successful theatrical run.
Directed by Anurag Singh, the film was released in theatres on January 23, 2026, where it quickly gained attention for its large-scale action sequences and emotional storytelling set against a historic wartime backdrop.
Set during the Indo‑Pakistani War of 1971, the sequel expands the narrative beyond the events portrayed in the 1997 classic Border. While the original primarily highlighted the Battle of Longewala, this new chapter explores multiple battle zones and shows how India’s Army, Navy and Air Force respond to Pakistan’s Operation Chengiz Khan offensive.
Sunny Deol appears as Lt. Col. Fateh Singh Kaler, an army commander leading his battalion through intense conflict and strategic warfare during the war.
The film also portrays several decorated military figures from the war. Varun Dhawan plays Major Hoshiar Singh Dahlya, the courageous soldier who received the Param Vir Chakra for his heroism during the Battle of Basantar.
Meanwhile, Diljit Dosanjh steps into the role of Air Force officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, who defended the Srinagar Air Base and was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery. Ahan Shetty portrays naval officer M. S. Rawat.
Beyond battlefield action, the story also highlights the emotional struggles faced by soldiers and their families during wartime.
The ensemble cast includes Mona Singh, who plays Surinder Kaur Chandpuri. Sonam Bajwa and Medha Rana appear as family members connected to the soldiers, adding a personal dimension to the narrative. Music also became a highlight for audiences, particularly the recreated version of the iconic song “Sandeshe Ate Hain,” reintroduced as Ghar Kab Aoge. The track features vocals from Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Vishal Mishra, and Diljit Dosanjh.
During its theatrical run, Border 2 emerged as one of the major hits of 2026. According to Sacnilk, the film collected ₹392.40 crore net in India and reached ₹449.65 crore worldwide.
