Pune, January 10, 2025 — The Agrawal Friends Club (AFC) brought the Agrawal community together under the clear skies of January to host the inaugural Agrawal Premier League (APL) on January 4th and 5th. The event was more than just a cricket tournament; it was a vibrant celebration of fitness, teamwork, and unity among Agrawal families.
The tournament began with an exciting auction, forming six teams, including four men’s teams and two women’s teams. The men’s teams were Agrawal Smashers, Agrasen Fighters, Hare ke Sahaare, and Agrawal Titans, while the women’s teams were the Blue Pirates and Golden Strikers. Each team, consisting of seven players, competed at the renowned MatchDay Arena in Wakad.
The competition was split into two parts:
- – Women’s Series: A thrilling best-of-three format.
- – Men’s League: A round-robin stage with the top two teams advancing to the grand finale, while the third and fourth teams battled for third place.
Over the course of two days, 11 exciting matches were played, with more than 50 Agrawal families passionately supporting their teams. The men’s final saw Agrawal Smashers edge out Hare ke Sahaare by just 9 runs to lift the trophy, while the Golden Strikers claimed the women’s title.
