Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced a major push to accelerate infrastructure development across the state, with over 20 flagship projects set to progress rapidly. During a crucial ‘War Room’ meeting at Mantralaya, Fadnavis reviewed the status of key projects in sectors such as metro systems, highways, irrigation, airports, ports, and tourism, issuing strong directives for timely completion.

The state government has stressed zero tolerance for delays, with officials instructed to ensure smooth progress in areas like administrative approvals, fund disbursement, land acquisition, and project implementation. Key areas for focus include:

  1. Port Development: The Vadhavan Port project, essential for boosting India’s maritime trade, will fast-track permissions and land acquisition processes.
  2. Irrigation Projects: In Vidarbha and Marathwada, work will begin on the Wainganga-Nalganga river linking project, with land allocated to those affected by the Lower Pedhi project to improve water resource management.
  3. Railway Projects: The Wadsa-Gadchiroli and Wardha-Nanded railway lines will see accelerated land acquisition to enhance connectivity.
  4. Tourism Development: Proposals for the Tuljapur Temple Development Plan will be submitted, alongside efforts to beautify and expand facilities at the Tulja Bhavani Temple.
  5. Urban Development: The government aims to resolve water scarcity in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar by launching the ROB water supply scheme’s first phase by March 31. The Virar-Alibaug Multi-Modal Corridor survey will also be completed next month, alongside the Mula-Mutha River Conservation Project proposal.
  6. Airport and Traffic Solutions: The development of Palghar Airport will be fast-tracked with a consultant appointment, while land acquisition for the Pune Ring Road Project will aim to address traffic congestion.

Fadnavis emphasized that these infrastructure initiatives are crucial for Maharashtra’s growth, enhancing the state’s quality of life and ensuring sustainable development across sectors.
