A promising life full of ambition and hard work was tragically cut short in the recent Ahmedabad aviation accident, claiming the life of 27-year-old Roshni Songhare, a dedicated Air India crew member. Her sudden passing has sent ripples of grief through her family and the local community.

Roshni, a resident of Umiya Building near Madhavi Bungalow on Rajaji Path in Dombivli East, had been working with Air India for the past two years. From a young age, she had nurtured a clear dream — to become an air hostess. Her journey into aviation started with a job at SpiceJet, before joining Air India where she continued to chase her childhood aspiration.

Sadly, her dream was never fully realized. While she had secured a position as cabin crew, her goal to become a full-fledged air hostess remained unfulfilled — a loss her family is finding especially painful to bear.

She is survived by her parents and her brother, Vighnesh, who works for a shipping company. Her father, Rajendra Songhare, is employed as a technician. Roshni’s family shared that she had overcome many challenges and had worked tirelessly to build a better future, making her untimely death all the more heartbreaking.

On the morning of the incident, Roshni had one last phone conversation with her aunt, Rajshree Songhare — a call that, unbeknownst to them, would be her final exchange with any family member.

Once news of the tragedy broke, her father and brother immediately left for Ahmedabad. However, as of the initial reports, the family had not yet received formal communication from the airline regarding her death. Relatives also shared that wedding discussions had recently begun within the family, adding another layer of sorrow to their grief.

Her maternal uncle, Pravin Sukhdare, recalled how the family had lived in Rat Road before moving to Dombivli, where Roshni completed her education. Despite coming from a modest, middle-class background, Roshni’s determination had led her to achieve professional success. Her resilience and drive were a source of pride not just for her family, but for the entire community.

The loss has deeply affected residents of Dombivli, who remember Roshni as an inspiring figure. Local leaders, including BJP State Vice-President Ravindra Chavan, MLA Rajesh More, former corporator Mukund Pednekar, and Mandar Halbe, visited the family to offer condolences and paid heartfelt tributes to her memory.
