Thiruvananthapuram, July 24 : Air India Express flight IX 539 on Trivandrum-Dubai route was diverted to Thiruvananthapuram due to AC failure on Sunday. There were 178 passengers and 6 crew members on board.

The aircraft made normal safe landing at Thiruvananthapuram at 3.52 pm after the taking off at 1.19 pm. A local standby was also declared in connection with the emergency landing. Later, an alternate flight ‘IX 556’ took off with the stranded passengers at 6.12 pm from here to Dubai.

“All passengers and crew are safe. The aircraft landed securely, and a local standby was declared. The issue was related to the air conditioning system,” the official stated.

Following the precautionary landing, Air India Express swiftly arranged for another aircraft to ensure a comfortable journey for all the passengers. The rescheduled departure for the Dubai flight was set for 6.00 PM. Air India Express emphasized its commitment to providing a safe, reliable, and comfortable travel experience for all its guests and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused due to the delay.
