A recent video circulating on social media has sparked controversy as it captures a couple engaging in intimate behaviour inside a Bengaluru Metro train.

The clip, shared by a user, depicts the couple involved in a public display of affection near the automated doors of the moving train, with allegations of kissing also raised.

Prompted by the video, calls for action have emerged, with users expressing concerns about the appropriateness of such behaviour in public spaces. Comparisons have been drawn to similar incidents in other metro systems, particularly in Delhi.

In response to the outcry, a user tagged the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) and Bengaluru police, urging them to take action. The tweet prompted a swift response from the police, acknowledging the complaint and requesting further details from the user via direct message.

They wrote, ”Noted, Please provide your contact number via DM”

Meanwhile, the clip is going viral on social media, and receiving mixed reactions. While some users expressed outrage and called for the need to maintain decorum and respect for public spaces, others questioned the idea of filming the act without the couple’s consent.

One user said, ”Security and officers should take action against such couples or whoever be.”

Another wrote, ”Mind your own business. And don’t film without permission. Close your eyes if you don’t want to see people happy.’

A third commented, ”I do not see any kissing, just hugging. I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. The main question is what should be deemed wrong? Hugging in public? A little peck on the cheeks or lips? Full nonstop kissing on lips? What level of PDA is deemed obscene?”

A Fourth said “This reminds of a joke where a man was poking a boy and in response the boy asked ki Uncle aapko pata mere dada ji 150 saal jiye the And that uncle asked how, and the boy said wo apne kaam se kaam rakhte the. Bhai tu bhi rakh apne kaam se kaam”

While reactions to the incident vary, with some expressing outrage and others questioning the ethics of filming without consent, the matter has underscored the need for vigilance and enforcement of behavioural norms in public transportation systems.

As authorities investigate the incident, it serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting communal spaces and adhering to appropriate conduct guidelines.
