Pune, July 17, 2025: In a move impacting international travelers, Air India has extended the suspension of its Pune-Singapore (AI-2111/10) flight service until September 30. The airline confirmed on Tuesday that the decision was taken to facilitate ongoing safety inspections and essential technical maintenance of its fleet.

The suspension follows heightened scrutiny by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) after a recent incident involving an Air India aircraft in Ahmedabad raised concerns about aircraft safety and maintenance standards.

Enhanced Safety Measures Underway
As part of its preventive strategy, DGCA initiated detailed inspections across Air India’s fleet, which led to the temporary suspension of several flights between June 24 and July 15. With checks and repairs still underway, the airline has now extended the Pune-Singapore service suspension until the end of September.

Travel Disruptions and Passenger Support
The Pune-Singapore route, operating via Delhi with five weekly flights, serves as a key international link for the city. The extended halt will not only affect connectivity to Southeast Asia but also impact domestic services between Pune and Delhi.

Air India has assured passengers that those holding confirmed bookings are being contacted individually. Full refunds and rebooking options are being offered, and travelers are urged to check their emails or contact customer support for assistance.

Gradual Resumption Planned
While the airline plans to fully restore the Pune-Singapore service from October 1, it indicated that international operations would restart gradually from August, subject to regulatory approvals and aircraft readiness.
