Allow co-operative housing societies to hold vaccination within their premises

Pune district cooperative housing society federation has written to the Pune Municipal Corporation to allow to hold Vaccination within housing societies. 

 A letter was recently submitted to the PMC for which the federation is awaiting nod.

The federation has also spoken with several private hospitals from the city who can help them in conducting the vaccinations. 

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Suhas Patwardhan, president, Pune District Cooperative housing society federation said, “We have written to the PMC Commissioner and Mayor seeking their approval to start vaccination within housing society premises. Earlier, the initiative was taken by many societies but it was stalled due to lack adequate vaccines.” 

To resolve the issue of manpower, the private hospitals have assured that they have well equipped teams to handle the Vaccinations. Patwardhan further stated that we have spoken with a private hospital in Pune md they have agreed. Now, we are awaiting for PMC’s approval.

Rajendra Chuttar from Baner Pashan Link Road Welfare Trust said, “We have a sizeable population which is ideal for vaccination. We too have put forth our demand of creating atleast three Vaccination centers in our area. Also, we have asked to allow housing societies to hold Vaccination with help from Hospitals. This will reduce the burden on the existing centers and also expedite the process of Vaccination.”
