Allu Arjun, who won the National Award for Best Actor for Pushpa: The Rise (2021), is set to return with its sequel, Pushpa 2: The Rule, releasing on December 5. At a recent press conference in Mumbai, the actor opened up about his award win and thoughts on Bollywood.

Calling the win an “absolute honor,” Arjun credited the achievement to the Pushpa team, especially director Sukumar. The actor revealed that Sukumar had promised to create a film deserving of a National Award. Arjun said, “It’s special because no Telugu actor has won this award in 69 years. This is a remarkable achievement in my life, thanks to Sukumar Garu.”

Music director Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) also won a National Award for the film’s music. Arjun shared how he and DSP, who hail from Chennai, once found Bollywood daunting. “I told him it was hard to break into Hindi films, but now I hope to do one or two in the future,” Arjun said.

The actor recalled how his ambition to win the National Award began before *Pushpa: The Rise*. He described his determination to elevate his craft to meet the honor’s standards.

The upcoming sequel, Pushpa 2: The Rule, promises to take the gripping narrative forward. It delves deeper into Pushpa Raj’s rise in the smuggling underworld. Directed by Sukumar, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil.

Fans eagerly await Allu Arjun’s electrifying performance, gritty action, and an intense storyline, making Pushpa 2 one of the most anticipated Indian films.
