Anant Ambani gifts 20-Kg gold crown to Lalbaugcha Raja for Ganesh Chaturthi
As Ganesh Chaturthi draws near, Mumbai’s revered Lalbaugcha Raja has revealed its grand 2024 avatar, dazzling devotees with a 20-kg gold crown valued at Rs 15 crore. This magnificent gift, presented by Anant Ambani and the Reliance Foundation, was unveiled on the evening of September 5, just before the festival begins.
The Lalbaugcha Raja idol, draped in rich maroon attire and adorned with intricate jewelry, was the centerpiece of the event. The gold crown, meticulously crafted over two months, stands out as a highlight of this year’s festivities. Anant Ambani’s gesture underscores his deep-rooted connection with the Lalbaugcha Raja committee, a bond he has nurtured for 15 years.
Ambani’s involvement with the Lalbaugcha Raja extends beyond this year’s donation. He has consistently supported the mandal through various initiatives, including his presence at the Ganeshotsav celebrations and the annual immersion ceremony at Girgaon Chowpatty Beach. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when the mandal faced financial hardships, Ambani stepped in with substantial aid, including the donation of 24 dialysis machines to assist with the committee’s patient support fund.
