Actor Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli were recently seen in a deeply spiritual moment during their visit to Premanand Ji Maharaj in Vrindavan, a video of which has now surfaced on social media. The clip, shows the celebrity couple listening attentively as the revered Radha-Krishna bhakt speaks about devotion, purpose, and the search for God.
Dressed simply, Anushka and Virat were seen seated at Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj Ashram at Varah Ghat, where Premanand Ji Maharaj offered guidance on living a life rooted in humility, sincerity, and spiritual growth. The couple, known to be devoted followers, had recently returned to India and made a customary visit to seek his blessings.
Addressing them, Premanand Ji Maharaj urged them to view their professional lives as service to God. “Consider your field of work like service to God. Stay sincere, polite, and keep chanting God’s name. You have to make your life progressive. Till the time we don’t find God, our journey shouldn’t stop,” he said.
He further spoke about the human tendency to get lost in worldly attachments. “Entire lifetime went away, confused in this illusion. Loved so many people in between, but everyone kept going away. At least look at the one who is actually yours once,” he said, encouraging them to cultivate a deep desire to see God. “Have heard that he is beautiful. One should have the desire to see him once, right?”
Premanand Ji Maharaj advised the couple to set a spiritual goal beyond material happiness. “Make it your goal that even if in this life or the next, you decide, but I want to meet you. You have shown all the happiness in life, I don’t want those now, I want you. And if I get to see you, all the happiness will come along with you at your feet,” he said, later narrating a story involving Hanuman ji and Raavan to explain the nature of true happiness.
Throughout the interaction, Virat Kohli appeared visibly emotional, listening intently and nodding in agreement. Anushka Sharma, equally moved, bowed before the guru and said, “Hum aapke hain Maharaj ji, aap humare.”
Premanand Ji Maharaj responded with a smile and words that resonated deeply with both of them: “Hum sab Shree ji ke hain.” He added, “We are all under one umbrella, under his blue umbrella, the sky. We all are his children.”
He further explained the spiritual journey as a shared path. “You don’t know about the path ahead so I held your hand, someone holds my hand, then the other person holds that someone’s hand. We are going in a series. The tradition has been created this way. We are in line only, we will reach there eventually.”
