A graduate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from VIT, Vellore, Archit chose Philosophy as his optional subject for the exam. He completed his schooling in Mumbai and pursued his junior college studies in Pune. Before dedicating himself fully to UPSC preparation, he worked briefly in an IT company.
Although UPSC does not release a state-wise ranking, Archit appears to be the top-ranking candidate from Maharashtra based on available information. His success is especially significant for Pune, a city known for its vibrant UPSC preparation ecosystem, with several coaching institutes and libraries catering to aspirants.
Notably, Archit had also cleared the UPSC exam in 2023, securing a rank of 153. His journey from IT professional to one of the top three candidates in India is being celebrated across the state.
This year, 1,009 candidates qualified for the Civil Services Exam. Shakti Dubey topped the list, followed by Harshita Goyal in second place, and Archit Dongre at third.
Archit’s achievement adds to Pune’s growing legacy of producing top civil service officers and serves as a source of inspiration for aspiring candidates across Maharashtra.
