Pune: Faraskhana Police have arrested an Indian army jawan as he allegedly assaulted a traffic police constable with a cement block.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Dadasaheb Chudappa, Police Inspector, Faraskhana Police Station said, “The arrested Army jawan hails from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar district. Approximately, 1 to 1.5 months earlier, a case of triple seat riding was registered against him by a traffic police officer where the jawan was fined. He got into an altercation with the traffic police officer. The jawan went back to serve his duties as he was posted in Jodhpur. However, keeping the traffic incident in mind, he held a grudge against the traffic police officer. When the jawan came from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar to Pune during his break, he assaulted the traffic police officer with a cement block. The incident occurred at Budhwar Chowk on October 25 after which the jawan was immediately arrested.”
As per further information shared by Chudappa, a case has been registered against the jawan at Faraskhana Police Station under Sections 307 & 353 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation into the case is going on.
