Army Public School Pune Triumphs At AWES Cluster Level English Debate
In a display of eloquence and critical thinking, Army Public School Pune, emerged victorious at the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) Cluster Level English Debate Competition held at Army Public School Pune on 24th of August, 2024.The topic of the debate, ‘Artificial Intelligence Should Be Granted Legal Personhood and Rights,’ sparked intense discussions, with teams presenting well-researched arguments on both sides of the issue.
The team of APS Pune captivated the judges and audience alike with their compelling stance, sharp reasoning and articulate delivery. The winning team comprised of Anushka Mehta, Serah Maria Johnson and Shauryaman Bisht. Shauryaman was also adjudged the Best Interjector.
Pavni Goel and Anusha of APS Dehu Road were adjudged the best speakers for and against the motion, respectively.
The arguments of the young orators explored the ethical, legal and societal implications of granting legal personhood to artificial intelligence, demonstrating a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding the topic. The judges applauded the performance of all the participating teams for their excellent preparation and confident presentation.
This achievement indeed adds another feather to APS Pune’s cap, post the enthralling victory of the school team of Hindi Debaters at Command Level, recently and sets a high standard for future competitions. This glorious win reflects unmatched preparedness, intellectual acumen and rigorous training of APS Pune.
