After a dazzling career spanning 64 years in Bollywood, Dharmendra, the veteran actor known for his iconic roles, has made a surprising change.

In the recently released film “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,” where Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon take center stage, Dharmendra is credited not under his familiar name but as Dharmendra Singh Deol. This marks a significant alteration to his name after six decades in the industry.

Dharmendra Singh Deol, born Dharam Singh Deol in Punjab on December 8, 1935, has been an influential figure in Indian cinema.

Despite his childhood name being Dharam Singh Deol, he later adopted the name Dharmendra when he entered the film industry. However, the recent film credits him under his original name with the added surname Singh Deol.

“Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” is a sci-fi film featuring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in lead roles. The unique love story revolves around Kriti as a robot and Shahid as an ordinary human, exploring the intricacies of their relationship.

The film has garnered positive reviews, not only for its storyline but also for its captivating music that has become a favorite among fans.

Although Dharmendra has not officially announced this name change, credible sources have reported this alteration in the film credits. This move adds a fresh aspect to Dharmendra’s long standing legacy in the Indian film industry.

Dharmendra’s recent venture into a unique film role is not the first time the veteran actor has embraced unconventional projects.

In the movie “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani,” Dharmendra played a small yet significant role as Shahid Kapoor’s grandfather. Despite his advanced age, Dharmendra delivered a commendable performance, showcasing his versatility and enduring commitment to his craft.

On the personal front, Dharmendra was born to Kewal Kishan Singh Deol and Satwant Kaur in Sahnewal village, Punjab.

His father was a headmaster, and his mother was a homemaker. Dharmendra later moved to Mumbai to pursue his passion for acting, where he dropped his middle and surname upon entering the film industry.

Interestingly, when his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol followed in his footsteps, they chose to retain the family surname.

Dharmendra’s cinematic journey continues to be marked by evolution and adaptation, with each project bringing forth a new facet of his talent and dedication.
