In a major digital convenience initiative, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has partnered with Google to enable the display of authorised Aadhaar centres on Google Maps, making it easier for citizens across India to locate verified Aadhaar service centres.

Under the collaboration, residents will soon be able to search for nearby Aadhaar centres and access detailed information about the services offered, including adult enrolment, child enrolment, and address or mobile number updates. The platform will also display important facility-related information such as operating hours, parking availability, and divyang-friendly infrastructure wherever applicable.

The facility is expected to be rolled out in the coming months.

The initiative aims to improve public convenience, prevent misinformation, and ensure seamless access to more than 60,000 Aadhaar centres across the country, including modern Aadhaar Seva Kendras (ASKs). With this integration, users searching on Google Maps will be directed only to verified and authorised Aadhaar centres.

Speaking on the collaboration, UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar said the initiative aligns with the authority’s focus on improving ease of living for Aadhaar number holders, adding that the partnership will make locating authorised centres “simpler, faster, and more transparent.”

In the next phase of the project, UIDAI will use Google Business Profile to manage centre information and respond directly to public feedback, ensuring greater transparency and service accountability. Future plans also include exploring direct appointment booking through the Google Maps interface, enabling residents to plan their visits more efficiently.

Roli Agarwal, Country Head – Strategic Partnerships at Google India, said the integration of verified Aadhaar centres will help millions of residents access trusted government services with confidence, strengthening the bridge between digital platforms and essential public infrastructure.
