Autofares in Pune to increase from November 8

Pune Regional Transport Authority has decided to increase the fares in three seater autorickshaw from November 8, 2021. The first 1.5 kms will be charged at Rs 20, while thereafter every 1 km will be charged at Rs 13.

The decision to increase the fare was taken after the recommendation from the Khatua Committee. This fare rise is applicable to Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and Baramati area. Earlier, the charges for first 1.5 kms were Re 18, while every 1 km was charged at 12.19. From November 8, in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation limits 25 percent fare rise between 12 at night to 5 am can be charged as additional charges, while other than urban areas, it will be charged at 40 percent during the same period. Passengers carrying luggage of 60 * 40 cms or bigger than this size will be charged Rs 3 per bag.

“Since the fare is applicable from November 8, autorickshaw owners should get their meter calibration done between 8 November – 31 December. Those who get meter calibration only those autorickshaw will be allowed to charge the increased the fare, while those who fail to get this calibration done their permit for that day shall be cancelled. After the calibration period ends within 7 days or maximum 40 days, the permit for each day shall remain cancelled. Or autodrivers shall be fined anywhere between Rs 50 or 2000, informed Pune Regional Transport Office.
