Public Apology From The Singer

In a video statement shared on social media, Badshah acknowledged that parts of the song had hurt people’s sentiments, particularly in Haryana.

He said, “My new song ‘Tateeree’ has been released, and I see that the message conveyed by a part of the song and its visual representation has hurt many people, especially the people of my Haryana and their sentiments.”

Appealing emotionally to the public, the rapper added, “If anyone has been hurt by this, I wholeheartedly apologise to you all. I hope you will forgive me considering me a son of Haryana.”

Singer Highlights His Haryana Roots

Badshah also stressed his strong connection to the state, describing himself as proud of his Haryanvi identity.

He said, “I myself am from Haryana. My language, food habits, lifestyle and identity are from Haryana. I am a very proud Haryanvi.”

The rapper clarified that he never intended to insult women or children and explained that in the hip-hop genre certain expressions are sometimes used to target rivals, not communities.

Song Removed From Platforms

Following the controversy, Badshah confirmed that the song is being taken down from official channels and social media platforms.

The track had been sung by Badshah and Simran Jaglan, while the music was composed by Hiten.

FIR And Legal Action

The controversy intensified after a complaint was filed in Panchkula, Haryana, alleging that the song contained objectionable lyrics and visuals.

Complainants claimed that the video featured girls in school uniforms performing inappropriate gestures in a bus setting, which they argued promoted obscenity and could negatively influence young audiences.

Following the complaint, Haryana Police registered an FIR and began investigating the matter under relevant legal provisions.

The issue also drew attention from the Haryana State Women’s Commission, which said the lyrics allegedly violated social and moral norms and demanded action over content that objectifies women.

As the investigation continues, the rapper’s apology and the removal of the song are being seen as attempts to calm the controversy.
