PUNE: The Bhimashankar Temple, a revered Jyotirlinga pilgrimage site in the Pune district, is currently witnessing a surge in devotee footfall owing to the auspicious month of Shravan. In anticipation of an even greater influx of worshippers in the upcoming days, temple authorities have enacted a prohibition on mobile phone usage within the temple premises.

With the primary aim of ensuring the safety and comfort of devotees during the holy Shravan month, the use of mobile phones, photography, and videography has been strictly prohibited. This measure has been taken to alleviate any potential overcrowding issues in sacred areas such as the inner sanctum, main hall, and temple grounds. Its secondary purpose is to facilitate unhindered darshan (worship) and uphold the temple’s sanctity.

In a cordial request, temple administration humbly appeals to all devotees to desist from capturing photographs or videos in the designated zones and kindly cooperate by keeping their mobile devices powered off. It is crucial to be aware that temple authorities stand ready to pursue legal actions against any individuals caught using mobile phones or engaging in photography within the temple premises, notwithstanding the prior plea for cooperation.
