Pune Youths Swindled Out Of Rs 13 Lakhs In Separate Cyber Scams

Pune: A man has filed an FIR with Hinjewadi Police as he lost Rs 2,25,600 in online fraud.Â
As per the information, the victim, identified as Manish Bhagwandas Kriplani, received a WhatsApp message from the mobile number 16822932635. The accused person in conversation with Kriplani assured him gave an offer for a part-time job on YouTube of liking and subscribing to YouTube channels for which the victim will be receiving bonuses. Kriplani agreed to it.
After getting the confidence and trust of Kriplani, the accused added him to a Telegram group called INDIA PROQUEST PART TIME JOB. He kept informing Kriplani about different benefits.
He also managed to lure the victim by assuring double benefits & returns. Thus, by trusting the accused completely, Kriplani kept sending the accused Rs 1000, Rs 10,000, Rs 64,600 & Rs 1,50,000. The accused assured Kriplani that the total amount of Rs 2,25,600 was remitted and it will be returned with a 30% bonus on the said amount. However, when the accused established no contact with Kriplani for several days, he realized that he had been duped.
A case has been registered under Sections 406 & 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) & further investigation is going on regarding the accused’s whereabouts.
