A Lucknow-bound IndiGo flight faced delays at Mumbai airport on Friday due to a bomb threat made by a passenger. The incident occurred in the late hours of 26 January, during heightened security measures for Republic Day celebrations. Mumbai police reported that the incident took place on Indigo flight number 6E 5264 from Mumbai to Lucknow.

Following the man’s claim of a bomb under his seat, authorities conducted a comprehensive check of the aircraft. Mumbai Police promptly dispatched a team to the location after the incident was reported. Fortunately, no suspicious objects were discovered during the investigation, according to the Mumbai police.

The 27-year-old passenger was detained by Mumbai police, and charges were filed against him under sections 506(2) and 505(1)(B) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Authorities are currently investigating the motive behind the false bomb threat.
