Bomb threats prompt evacuations at Jaipur schools

Several schools in Jaipur, Rajasthan, including St Teresa’s School, MPS School, Vidyashram School, and Manak Chowk School, received bomb threats via email, leading to the evacuation of students and staff members. Police teams, along with bomb and dog squads, have been deployed to investigate the situation.

This incident follows a similar scare in Delhi-NCR, where over 150 schools received bomb threat emails, resulting in mass evacuations and searches. Additionally, bomb threats were reported at hospitals, the IGI airport, and other installations in Delhi.

The threatening emails, received from various sources including a Russia-based mailing service and a Europe-based company ‘beeble.com‘, warned of explosives planted on the premises, demanding immediate action to avoid casualties. Investigations are ongoing to trace the origins of these emails, with suspicions of VPN or proxy server usage to conceal the sender’s identity.

While no explosives have been found thus far, authorities are taking enhanced security measures and intensifying safety protocols. Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla has emphasized the importance of beefing up security measures, including CCTV surveillance and monitoring of emails, to address such incidents effectively in the future.
