Two brothers and a friend returned from Bangkok after having a good time. Customs officials found the behavior of the brothers puzzling. Once they exited the airport, both felt they had successfully completed their mission, but they soon made a significant error.

Due to their suspicious actions, the police decided to question them. When the police searched their luggage, they were in for a surprise. According to police reports, the brothers and their friend first arrived at Delhi Airport from Bangkok before taking a flight to Chennai. To avoid raising any red flags, they chose not to book a direct flight from Bangkok to Chennai, as they were involved in trafficking high-quality cannabis from Thailand.

The cannabis seized was valued at 80 lakh rupees and had arrived at Chennai Airport.

Mohammad Yusuf (32 years old), his brother Haroon (30), and their friend Farooq (34) are all from Kodungaiyur. Their breakfast packets were found to contain cannabis. Acting on a tip-off, the Narcotics Department apprehended all three outside the airport. Initially, nothing was discovered in their bags, but suspicion grew when officials uncovered 100 packets of breakfast concealed among the clothing in their luggage.

When the officers from the Narcotics department checked some of the bags, they initially found only food items. When one officer inquired about the large amount of breakfast they brought from abroad, the trio explained that the supermarkets there offer excellent products. However, the officers decided to inspect all the bags. They uncovered 13 packets containing cannabis, which were wrapped in plastic. In their statements during the investigation, the three individuals claimed they purchased the cannabis from a store named ‘Ganja Station’ in Bangkok. To avoid drawing attention, they had booked flights from Bangkok to Delhi and then to Chennai. It’s worth noting that all three had prior charges related to cannabis trafficking in other states.

The police stated that the group intended to distribute the drugs to college students in the city due to the high demand for them.
