The Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) would like to alert all its customers about fraudulent calls and messages related to billing and payment updates. Anand Jain, Head of the MNGL Billing Department, reiterates that MNGL does not provide any mobile app services for bill payments or updates. Customers are advised not to trust such fake or fraudulent calls.

MNGL has been receiving repeated complaints about fake calls and messages instructing customers to download mobile links to pay their bills or face disconnection of their gas connection. These fraudulent messages claim, “Pay via the mobile link or your gas connection will be disconnected tonight.” These actions are tarnishing MNGL’s reputation, and the management has taken this issue very seriously.

Cyber fraud involving various service institutions is on the rise, which is a concerning trend. MNGL urges all customers to remain vigilant and not fall prey to these deceitful activities. Additionally, MNGL has lodged a complaint with the Pune Police Commissioner regarding this matter.

For public awareness, MNGL has informed and alerted its customers through its official website and social media handles on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook. The company is also spreading awareness through various newspapers (in Marathi, Hindi, and English), public notices, radio jingles, and SMS and WhatsApp messages (in Marathi, Hindi, and English). MNGL clearly states that it does not send any messages about discontinuing PNG supply and requests customers to report any such incidents to the police immediately.

Anand Jain, Head of the MNGL Billing Department, stated, “All MNGL customers should be cautious of fraudulent calls made in the name of MNGL, asking them to download apps or links for gas bill payments. MNGL only accepts payments through the modes mentioned on the invoice/bill: https://www.mngl.in/pay-bill, Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS), NACH, ECS, check deposits at Axis/ICICI bank branches, and bill payments at MNGL walk-in centers in Shivajinagar and Chinchwad, Pune. Customers should stay alert against such impersonations.”
