The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the results of class 10th and 12th exams on Monday. In both the exams this year too, girls outshine boys. The passing percentage of girls in class 10 is 2.04 % higher than that of boys, and in class 12 it is 6.40 % more. 

The overall pass percentage of class 10th is 93.60 %. Compared to last year, this year there has been an increase of 0.48 %. The overall passing percentage rate of class 12 has increased by 0.65 % to 87.98 %. The class 10 exam lasted for 28 days, while the 12 exam lasted for 47 days.

Last year, in class 10, 1.95 lakh students scored more than 90% and 44,297 students scored more than 95%. While for class 12, 1.12 lakh students scored more than 90%, and 22,622 students scored more than 95%. Hence the scorers above 90% have increased. 

A student of Pune shared her experience after scoring 94% in her Class 10 board exams: “I was surprised to know that the results were declared so suddenly and without any official prior notice from the CBSE. I’m very happy with my results and extremely excited to embark on an exciting journey ahead. I’m grateful for the support I received throughout from my parents and teachers.” 

The supplementary exams will start on July 15, 2024. This year, 1.32 lakh students of class 10 and 1.22 lakh students of class 12 have been placed in the supplementary examination category. This year onwards, CBSE has changed the name of the compartment exam to supplementary exam.
