The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has strongly refuted a viral fake notice circulating on social media, falsely claiming the postponement of Class 12 Board Exams due to the ongoing Farmers’ Protest. The board clarified that the misleading advisory, posted on the microblogging site “X” (formerly Twitter), is entirely inaccurate. This misinformation, causing apprehension among students preparing for their Class 12 examinations, prompted CBSE to issue a warning.

In a tweet, CBSE stated, “#CBSE FACT CHECK! Beware! The following letter under circulation is FAKE and misleading. The board has not taken any such decision.” The fake notice, purportedly issued by CBSE, falsely cites issues arising from the Farmers’ Protest as the reason for postponing the exams. It even provides steps for students to request changes in exam locations or dates, which the board promptly dismissed, urging stakeholders to rely solely on official releases.

To ensure timely arrivals at exam centers, CBSE had previously issued a traffic advisory for both Class 10 and 12 exams. Delhi students were recommended to use metro facilities amidst ongoing protests.

Additionally, CBSE has cautioned against fake social media handles misusing the board’s name and emblem, reinforcing its commitment to transparent communication regarding any modifications to the exams.

The board emphasized the importance of using only the official CBSE website and verified social media platforms for authentic information.

The CBSE exams for classes 10 and 12 commenced on February 15, with the official datesheet 2024 indicating March 13 and April 2 as the respective end dates for the exams. Students are urged to stay informed through reliable sources and disregard false information circulating on social media.
