The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited affiliated schools to nominate students from Classes 9 to 12 to take part in its podcasts and social media content. The board said the initiative is meant to make its educational material more engaging and relatable for students.

CBSE has been producing in-house podcasts on academic and counselling issues. These are already available on platforms like YouTube. To add student voices, the board now plans to include short videos, audio interactions, testimonials, and conversations in its content.

In an official notice, CBSE said, “The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has initiated the in-house development of educational podcasts and digital content on various academic and counseling matters. These podcasts, already being made available on public platforms such as YouTube, are designed to provide meaningful guidance, awareness, and support to students, parents, and schools.”

Nomination Process and Consent

Schools have been asked to nominate students who are confident, articulate, and interested in participating. The participation is voluntary and requires written consent from both the student and their parents or guardians.

The board clarified in its notice, “The CBSE-affiliated schools are therefore requested to nominate students (from Classes IX–XII) who are articulate, confident, and interested in participating/appearing in social media content/podcasts of CBSE. The participation is completely voluntary and based on written consent of the student and their parents/guardians through the school concerned.”

Schools will have to submit the names and brief profiles of nominated students through a Google Form within 10 days of the circular’s release.

Focus On Mental Health Support

Along with this, CBSE has also announced the launch of the Counseling Hub and Spoke School Model for the 2025-26 academic session. The board said this model is aimed at improving access to counseling services and providing timely psychosocial support to students.

Under this model, counselors from hub schools will collaborate with spoke schools to carry out monthly activities. This network is expected to give students continuous support to strengthen their mental health and well-being.

The nomination announcement follows the release of the national education board’s first podcast episode on YouTube. The episode featured acid attack survivor Kafi discussing her exam results with CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta.
