The challenge introduced by the CEO

A user named Back4breakfast shared a screenshot of a social media post from Dino Dionne, the CEO of Genesis Capital Group. In his post, the CEO mentions that he presents this brain teaser to every job candidate during interviews. He states, “If you want the #Job, you have 3 seconds to give the right answer. You’d be amazed at the ridiculous excuses I’ve heard from those who either answered incorrectly or couldn’t answer at all! My 6-year-old figured it out in 30 seconds.”

Here is the question:

If you’re able to work out this sum, you have a job! Simples!

The mathematical expression in question is 3×3-3÷3+3, displayed on beige paper with the title “Only for Genius.” This straightforward yet tricky equation has sparked conversations across various social media platforms.

A mixed bag of reactions.

The Reddit post has since acquired over 2.8k likes and gathered more than 2.9k comments, showcasing a mix of confusion, amusement, and frustration among users. One user commented, “Honestly, it’s a bit unfair to give this under pressure. Who can think clearly in 3 seconds?”

Another expressed, “If he gave me 3 seconds to answer this question with a job on the line, it would take me 1 second to leave the room.”

On the other hand, many found the challenge to be exciting. One eager participant commented, “This is an awesome way to gauge quick thinking!” Meanwhile, some users approached it with humor, with one joking, “I’d be so nervous trying to come up with an answer in 3 seconds!”

One user proudly stated, “I got it! The answer is 9.”

As the comments started coming in, numerous users began sharing their answers, showing a mix of accuracy. Some claimed they had found the correct solution, while others acknowledged their struggles.
