Chandrayaan 3 update: Spacecraft captures images of Moon’s far side area

Pune: Chandrayaan 3 spacecraft is all set to land on the moon on August 23, 2023. It has come very close as it has captured images of the Moon’s far side using the Lander Hazard Detection and Avoidance Camera (LHDAC).

As per information from the official Twitter handle of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), the LHDAC assists in locating a safe landing area, without boulders or deep trenches, during the descent is developed by ISRO.

The ISRO announced on Sunday that it had successfully decreased the orbit of its mission’s lander module’s (LM). The mission has been launched on July 14 and is scheduled to land on the Moon’s surface on Wednesday, August 23.

The Indian spacecraft has made its closest approach to the Moon so far and is set to make a soft-landing on the moon’s surface. 

The Chandrayaan 3 mission objectives are to demonstrate safe and soft landings on the moon, to demonstrate the presence of rovers on the moon, and to carry out in situ scientific experiments. On Thursday, the mission’s lander module separated from its Propulsion Module after 35 days of its liftoff.
