Chatuhshringi temple to undergo renovation

Jagatguru Shankaracharya Vidya Nrusinha Bharti Swami (Karveer Peeth) will perform the foundation laying of the renovation work of the Chatuhshringi temple located on Senapati Bapat road.

On Tuesday, April 12, Nitin Angal, President of Chaturshringi Devasthan and Hemant Angal, Executive Trustee held a press conference.

He said, “The temple of Goddess Chaturshringi has historical importance and holds a special place among citizens of Pune. The project will be completed in three phases. The first phase will include the main temple, the sabha mandap, the surrounding area and the kalash. It will cost Rs 3.5 crores and will be completed in about a year and a half. About 6,700 square feet of new construction will take place. The auditorium will be six feet wide.”

“As per the expert and the archaeology department the old Maratha style or Peshwa style architecture of the temple will remain unchanged. The work will be planned in such a way that the devotees will not face any inconvenience during the construction. During Navratri, security and convenience of devotees have been taken care of. The second phase will include Ganpati Mandir, beautification of the surrounding area, waterfall, garden, meditation temple, while the third phase will include cultural office, new office building, and sliding staircase. The entire project is expected to cost around Rs 12 crore, and devotees are urged to donate.”
