Chhota Bheem Dies Due to Heart Failure
Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve’s famous tiger, Chhota Bheem, has died at Bhopal’s Van Vihar National Park. The tiger, who was undergoing treatment for the past two months, succumbed to congestive heart failure.
Chhota Bheem was rescued from forest between Khetauli and Panpatha range of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve on November 29 last year. A clutch wire snare had tightened around his neck, causing deep wounds. The injury led to severe infection and breathing difficulties. Chhota Bheem struggled to free himself from the wire snare, which caused further damage.
His condition was critical when he was rescued, leading to his immediate transfer to Bhopal for treatment. A four-member veterinary team will conduct a postmortem to determine the exact cause of death.
After being shifted to Van Vihar, initial reports suggested an improvement in his condition. However, despite continuous medical care, the tiger could not recover.
Officials confirmed that the wire injury had worsened over time, leading to complications. The infection spread, and doctors were unable to heal the deep wound. Van Vihar director stated that Chhota Bheem died while undergoing treatment.
Before his rescue, Chhota Bheem had also fought with another tiger, D-1, suffering a leg injury.
The tiger was a major attraction for tourists and held a special place in the hearts of wildlife enthusiasts.
